Formaldehyde is a bulk chemical product with a wide range of applications, a simple production process, and an abundant raw material supply. In addition to being directly used as a disinfectant, bactericide, and preservative, it is mainly used in organic synthesis, synthetic materials, coatings, rubber, pesticides, and other industries. Its main derivative products include paraformaldehyde, polyoxymethylene (POM), phenolic resins, urea-formaldehyde resins, amino resins, urotropine (hexamethylenetetramine) products, and polyols, among others. The wood-based panel industry is well-developed, and the demand for formaldehyde is substantial.
